Soccer Analyst Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning run was ended by the Black Cats before the global break, however can the English top division leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' new album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their weekend football team," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

The Hammers' only away victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously that team's manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.

A family member advised me to get Bees striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have got plenty of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's home form, the sole side they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have still been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
