Space-Based Images Show Iranian Naval Forces and Nuclear Facilities Targeted by Joint US and Israeli Attacks.

A wave of US and Israeli attacks has reportedly eliminated or harmed at least 11 warships belonging to Iran starting Saturday, recently obtained aerial photos reveal, with missile bases and nuclear sites also being targeted.

Pictures of the southern Konarak naval base and the Bandar Abbas port installation, which sits on the strategic Hormuz Strait and houses the headquarters of the Iranian navy, depict black smoke pouring from multiple warships on Monday and Tuesday.

Maritime Assets Incurred Major Losses

Included in the vessels destroyed was the Makran, Iran's most sizable ship which had served as a unmanned aerial vehicle platform. Aerial imagery indicated dark plumes pouring from the vessel which had been stationed at the Bandar Abbas base.

Analytical assessments suggest that no fewer than five vessels at the port were "hit or sunk". Pictures of the southern part of the port reveal plumes ascending from the Makran, while another pair of ships are visibly damaged, with one clearly on fire.

Over at the Konarak base, images show multiple stricken ships, with intelligence reports pointing to impacts on six vessels. Pictures taken on Monday also show that a number of buildings at the installation have been demolished.

"For many years the Iranian regime has harassed global maritime traffic," a senior US military official said. "At present, there is not a single Iranian ship operational in the Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz or Sea of Oman, and we will not stop."

Some vessels allegedly destroyed may have been concealed in satellite images by weather conditions or battle damage, or struck at sea, and have not been independently verified. Additional information indicated that an Iranian vessel was sinking near Sri Lanka's territorial waters, resulting in a search and rescue mission.

Rocket Installations and Nuclear Facilities Attacked

The destruction of Iran's rocket sites and the stopping nuclear weapons development were listed as further objectives of the offensive. Satellite images also revealed damage at the southern Khorgu and north-western Tabriz missile missile bases, and at the Konarak air base, where rocket warehouses and fortifications were struck.

At the Choqa Balk-e drone base west of the city of Kermanshah, significant destruction was observed to warehouses, underground facilities and UAV launching apparatus.

Destruction was also observed at a radar site at the Zahedan military airport in eastern Iran, close to the border with Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Significantly, the latest wave of strikes have reportedly hit installations at the Natanz complex – widely believed to be at the core of Iran's nuclear programme. An international watchdog commented that the damaged buildings were used for access to the facility's below-ground enrichment facility and that "no nuclear fallout" was likely.

Broader Consequences and Assessment

Observers stated that the strikes appeared to have "largely neutralized" the Iranian navy's capacity to carry out conventional attacks using its most significant vessels. However, it was stressed that Iran retains the ability to launch irregular strikes at sea through the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, mini-submarines and its so-called "ghost fleet" of oil ships.

The total scale of the damage caused to Iranian military infrastructure has yet to be fully assessed, with hostilities said to be continuing. Pictures also indicates extensive damage to the command center of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the city of Tehran.

A significant number of non-military structures also are reported to have been struck in the capital city and throughout the country after the conflict began. Reports of deaths from local officials suggest that many hundreds of civilians may have been lost their lives in the attacks.

Amid continuing hostilities, review of space-based data will carry on to document the evolving scope of damage.
