The President Calls Relatives of Attacked National Guard Members to White House

Former President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has asked the relatives of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the executive mansion.

He noted that he conversed with her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Tragic Incident

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a violent incident on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her comrade, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Vigils across West Virginia have occurred in their honor.

White House Invitation

The president said he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both individuals of the state National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president addressed journalists. “And in the same way with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Attendees assembled over the weekend at a local school in West Virginia to honor Sarah.

Both they had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of the president’s government program to aid policing efforts in Washington DC.

Remembering Sarah Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that instructors wished for. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that inspired those around her,” the principal, the principal of Beckstrom’s previous school, told the media. “She was kind, caring and always eager to help others.”

Memorial details for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Actions and Government Adjustments

Law enforcement have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with one count of first-degree murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The event led the government to suspend asylum applications and temporarily stop providing visas to owners of travel documents.

Status of the Airman

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of Martinsburg, started his military career in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, as reported by the AP.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia governor Morrisey stated on television.

Attorney general the attorney general told Fox News Sunday that she also intended to meet with Wolfe’s family.

Impact of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from her high school in June 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a military police officer with honor, as stated by the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had fortitude,” he told the crowd at the vigil. “Though her time ended too soon, she has left a mark that’s going to endure.”
